Donna Kay Johnson Phillips, 62, of Lawrenceburg, wife of 13 years to Wayne Phillips, died Monday, December 11, 2017 at UK Medical Center.
She was born in Richmond, KY to Betty Ashcraft Johnson, of Winchester and the late John C. Johnson. She attended Forrest Grove Christian Church; retired from the Anderson County Board of Education where she worked as a special education teacher; she enjoyed coloring mandalas, reading novels by Diana Palmer and helping her husband Wayne haul water through the scenic country roads of Anderson County. Her most treasured moments were spent with her grandchildren, watching them load rocks in their toy trucks, ride 4-wheelers, swim, and play basketball. She also loved her dog, Zeba and her cat, Molly.
Along with her husband she is survived by two step-children, Adam (Kayla Tracy) Phillips, Frankfort and Dr. Kimberly (John Thorpe) Phillips, Salvisa; brother, John David Johnson, Cincinnati; sister, Sheila (Harry) Chapman, Winchester; three step-grandchildren, Braelyn Wayne Phillips, David Allen Phillips, and Kaiden Trey Thorpe; and special niece and nephew, Shawn (Dr. Jessica Moss) Chapman and Melissa (James) Brown.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Larry Deckard officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Casket bearers will be Adam Phillips, Shawn Chapman, John Thorpe, Allen Phillips, Jacoby Wiley and Mark Willard.
