Jeanne Marlene (Matthews) Chumbler

Jeanne Marlene Matthews Chumbler, 64, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. 

She was born in Henderson, KY to Joseph and Anna Whittaker Matthews on April 4, 1953.  Jeanne was a 1971 graduate of Atherton High School in Louisville, KY.  She graduated with a double major in home economics and journalism from Murray State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.  While working at the Environmental Protection Cabinet, Department of Law, Jeanne obtained a Paralegal Certificate from Midway College.  She retired from the State Government on August 1, 2001. 

Jeanne was a loyal, loving wife, devoted aunt, renowned cook, an avid reader, and a passionate volunteer at Anderson County Animal Control Facility.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Fred Chumbler III, of Lawrenceburg; her mother, Anna Jeane Matthews, of Louisville; brothers, Kenneth Joe Matthews, of Louisville, and John Matthews, of Rolla, MO.  Her father, Joseph Matthews, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Vernon Carpenter officiating.  Visitation 11-1 p.m. Monday prior to services.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, KY.
