William Dodridge “Pee Wee” Carter, 92, of Lawrenceburg, widower of Rayma Mae Poulter Carter, died Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Signature Healthcare at Heritage Hall.
He was born in Anderson County to the late James Lester and Mamie Belle Gibson Carter. He was a member at First Baptist Church; US Army Veteran; and worked in maintenance at Wild Turkey for over 40 years.
Mr. Carter is survived by his two daughters, Jackie (Gerald) Robinson, of Salvisa and Lee Ann (Jeff) Young, of Lawrenceburg; 5 grandchildren, Crystal (Brandon) McGrew, Taylorsville, Jeremy (Pam) Robinson, Hartford, KY, Jeffrey (Leslie) Young II, AL, Austin (Sara) Young, Lawrenceburg, and Leslee (Cody) Hall, Owensboro; and two brothers, Bondy Carter and Roy Carter, both of Lawrenceburg.
Along with his wife and parents he is preceded in death by his siblings, Frances Waterfill, Ollie Carter, Dee Carter, Lelia Birdwhistell, Marshall Carter, Garnett Carter, Harold Carter, Shirley Robinson and Edna Baxter.
Funeral service will be Friday, April 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Gash Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30-2:00 p.m.
Casket bearers will be Keevin Carter, Marty Carter, Freddie Carter, Marc Carter, Barry Robinson, Bruce Ray Caldwell. Honorary bearers will be Angie Dunn, Terry Dunn, Amber Beasley, and Elly Parker.
Mr. Carters service will be livestreamed on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
