Shirley Jean (Carter) Robinson

          Shirley Jean Carter Robinson, 85, of Lawrenceburg widow of Hubert Lee Robinson, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at her sons residence.

          Mrs. Robinson was born in Anderson County to the late James Lester and Mamie Bell Gibson Carter.  She was a graduate of Anderson County High School; member of First Baptist Church; and spent her days as a housewife.

          She is survived by her son, Barry (Victoria) Robinson, Lawrenceburg; daughter, Bonita Robinson Redding, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; seven grandchildren, Jason and Wayne Briscoe, Chad, Jeremiah, and Christopher Robinson, and Toni Miller; great-grandchildren, Carter Briscoe, Katie Briscoe, Madison Holcomb, Makenna and Karrington Briscoe, Daniel, Conner, Anna, and Isabella Robinson, Tyler and Laura Miller, Charlee Robinson; three brothers, Walter Bond Carter, William Carter, and Roy Carter; daughter-in-law, Teresa Robinson, all of Lawrenceburg.

          Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Robinson; sisters, Lelia Birdwhistell, Frances Waterfill, Edna “Dot” Baxter and Agnes Carter; and brothers, Ollie Carter, David “Dee” Carter, Marshall Carter, Garnett Carter, Harold Carter and Samuel Carter.

          Funeral services will be Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Gash Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Tracey Royalty and Pastor Coleen Beasecker officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service.

          Casket bearers will be Jason Briscoe, Wayne Briscoe, Chad Robinson, Jeremiah Robinson, Carter Briscoe and Christopher Robinson. Honorary bearers will be Katie Briscoe, Madison Holcomb, Makenna and Karrington Briscoe, Daniel, Conner, Anna and Isabella Robinson, Tyler and Laura Miller, Charlee Robinson, Dylan Tracy and Wesley Holcomb.
