Russell L. Murphy

Russell L. Murphy, 78, formally of Garrard County Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 in Lexington, KY. He was born September 3, 1947 to the late Charles Murphy and Addie B. Simpson Murphy.  He retired from Malone & Hyde and Doc Holiday Mold Company. After his retirement he couldn’t sit still and became a Wal-Mart door greeter for the next 10 years.

He is survived by his children, David Murphy (Heather) of Danville, KY., Dana Murphy (Ricky Reynolds) of Harrodsburg, KY. Grandsons, Dalton Murphy (Serenity) of Danville, KY. Devin Murphy (Aly) of Lancaster, KY.

Preceded in death a long with his parents, three siblings, Buddy, Donnie, and Anna.

Whether it was telling a good story, watching his son race dirt track, spending time with his beloved grandsons, or working on his old 77 Chevy pickup he always had a smile and time for conversation.

Cremation is under the direction of Noon & Son Funeral Home.
