Robert Stopher II Obituary

Robert Carroll "Robby" Stopher ll, the son of Cynthia Ann Satterly Stopher, Lawrenceburg, and the late Robert Carrol "Bobby" Stopher I, joined his earthly father and his Heavenly Father on September 5th, 2021 at the age of 49.

Robby is survived by his loving wife, Tracey Ingram Stopher. In their 23 years of marriage, Robby and Tracey had 3 girls: Kelsey Elizabeth Stopher, Madelyn Faith Stopher, and Addison Grace Stopher. He is also survived by his mother, Cynthia Ann Satterly Stopher; his sister, Cindy (Larry) Gamble; and 3 nieces: MaKayla (Austin) Bragg, Aleah O’Cull, and MaKinley Gamble. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bobby” Carrol Stopher l; his paternal grandparents, Carroll and Louise Stopher; and his maternal grandparents, J.L. and Azille Satterly.

Robby was a member and trustee of Bethel Baptist Church. He worked at Brine’s Mechanical of Michigan, as an HVAC field supervisor for many years. To know Robby, was to love Robby. He had a pure sense of humor and was able to find joy in the smallest, most ordinary things. Robby was always moving, whether he was feeding his cows, working on a tractor, or helping his girls with something they needed. Unless he was out of town for work, you could bet that he was working on or fixing something on his farm. Robby was a kid at heart, always tinkering with his trains or trying to figure out how something worked. Robby loved all things history, American history and his own family history. You could ask him almost any question about his family history and he would be able to answer it, and if he didn’t know the answer, he would know where to find it. He was so proud of being able to farm the land that his Granddad once farmed. Being a very sentimental person, he had a hard time getting rid of anything that had sentimental value. Things that we thought were silly to keep, Robby could think of unique and beautiful ways to use them. He was a skilled woodworker. Even though his schedule was filled with other things, he would work until the wee hours of the morning making his girls, including his wife, handmade Christmas gifts. He enjoyed drag racing, watching his friends race and helping them work on their cars. Larry, his brother-in-law, and Robby were always cutting up with each other. If they were together, you could expect them to be getting into trouble, and they thought of each other as the brothers they never had. Even though he loved all those things, his pride and joy was his 3 daughters. He loved the Lord and set an example for his girls to follow. He and Tracey raised them to remember their humble beginnings and to be proud of where they came from.

Robby’s pallbearers will be Larry Gamble, Shawn McHolan, Jason Satterly, Martin Elder, Erik Demonbreun, Austin Bragg, Tanner Cornish, and Dalton Poole. Honorary pallbearers are John “Johnny” Mitchell, Eugene McHolan, Fred Herald, and Tommy Millard.
