Richard Lay

          Richard Lay, 73, of Lawrenceburg, widower of Patsy Louise Graves Lay, died Monday, May 30, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.

          Mr. Lay was born in Versailles, Kentucky to the late Herman Eugene and Lucille McKinney Lay.  He was a U.S. Army veteran where he served in the Vietnam War; former fork lift driver for Kuhlman Electric; and an avid farmer. 

          Richard is survived by two daughters, Sara (Richard) Heydon, of Frankfort, Rebecca Graves, TN; dear friends, Kerry and Barbara Markwell, Lawrenceburg; brother, Charlie Lay, Versailles; 4 sisters, Linda Young, Carolyn Collins, Mary Lay and Barbara Griffith, all of Versailles; 3 grandchildren, Logan Heydon, Lane Graves and Rae Graves.

          A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Gritton officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service.
