Raymond Adam Murphy, was born February 7, 1938 in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky to the late James and Nell Murphy. Known as "Doc", he was well known and liked in the Lawrenceburg community.
Mr. Murphy was born in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky to the late James and Nellie Thurman Murphy. He was a member at Second Christian Church and was a retired truck driver with Trane Company and Smith Transfer.
He is survived by his ten children, Raymond D. Murphy, Lexington, Anthony (Kelli) Murphy, Danville, Terri Murphy, Lancaster, James Murphy, Sharon “Dottie” Chambers, and Ronald Murphy, all of Lawrenceburg, Roy Wayne Hogan, Sherry (William) Layne, Maria Murphy, all of Lexington, and Stephen Murphy, Frankfort; four brothers, Emmitt, Danny, and James Murphy; sisters, Cathy Murphy, Patricia Murphy, and Paula Murphy; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Delora Murphy; brothers, George and William Murphy, Skeeter Smith; sisters Maynie, Renee and Elaine Murphy, Bonnie Elliot and Josephine Brooks; three grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.
A memorial service will be held 5:00 PM Monday, August 31, 2020 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Rev. Johnny Cunningham, Rev. Danny Murphy, and Rev. Joe Marshall officiating. Visitation will be 3-5 PM prior to the service.
