Pete Kavanaugh Giles III, 77, passed away on July 18, 2026 in Lexington at the VA Medical Center.
Born on January 5, 1949, Pete was the son of the late Pete Kavanaugh Giles Jr. and Ruby Lane Giles.
Pete proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he worked for many years as a plumber until his retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic, willingness to help others, and his love for family.
He is survived by his children, Mike Carpenter (Rita), Paula Anderson, Pete Giles IV, Allen Giles (Stacy) all of Lawrenceburg; his grandchildren, Logan Carpenter (Grace), Mikie Carpenter, Krystal Moore (Tyler), Patrick Wilds, Zachary Giles, and Kassidy Giles; his siblings, Sandra Brough (Sonnie), Louis Fetters, Terry Sims, Jeff Giles, and David Giles; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Gale Giles; grandchild, Charles Anderson, and his siblings, Sharon Mason, Michael Lanier, and Danny Giles.
Pete will be remembered for his dedication to his country, his trade, and, most importantly, the love he had for his family. His kindness, strength, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service information will be announced by the family at a later date. Cremation was chosen.
His legacy of love, service, and hard work will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
