Nellie Joyce (Sutherland) Perry

Nellie Joyce Sutherland Perry, 86, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Elbert Irvin Perry, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Signature Healthcare at Heritage Hall.

          She was born in Frankfort, KY to the late James Elbert and Blanche Curtsinger Sutherland. She was a member at First Baptist Church, a former cafeteria worker at Saffell Street Elementary School; enjoyed visiting the Senior Citizen Center; member of the VFW and dancing in her free time.

          She is survived by her four children, Patsy Ann Fitzgerald, of Owenton, James Elbert Perry, Connie Ray Perry and Teresa Fay Robinson, all of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, Gayla Lewis, Joy Colligan, Mariah Keith, Nathan Fitzgerald, Chad Robinson, Christopher Robinson, Toni Miller, Jesse Perry, James Perry and Jenna Perry; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Betty Sue Sutherland and Linda Lou (Darrell) Satterly), both of Lawrenceburg; and aunt, Betty Baxter, of Lawrenceburg.

          Along with her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Jean Perry; brothers, James and Chester Sutherland; sisters, Doris Ann Murphy and Dorothy West; and son-in-law, Anthony Robinson. 

          Funeral services will be Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. with Bro. Jeremy Warren officiating. Visitation will be from 11-1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

          Casket bearers will be her grandsons. Honorary bearers will be Charlie Hahn, Darrell Satterly, Eric Lewis, James Keith, Charlie Colligan, Cameron Fitzgerald, Brandon Lewis, Cody Anderson, Conner Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Tyler Miller, Toby Fitzgerald, and Raylan Keith. 

          The family requests that donations be made to the Anderson County Senior Citizen Center in her honor, 160 Township Square, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342 or an organization of your choice.
