Nellie Mae Drury, 93, widow of Alvin D. Drury, passed away January 2, 2021 at Heritage Hall Healthcare Center.
She was born March 6, 1927 in Anderson County to the late Denzil Lee and Gladys Yocum Riley. Nellie was the former activity director at Heritage Hall Nursing Home for 20 years; she also worked at the Anderson County Senior Citizen Center; member at Sand Spring Baptist Church and a former teacher of the TEL Sunday School Class.
Ms. Drury is survived by four children, Gary (Sandra) Drury, Spring Hill, FL, Sue Sanders, Shelbyville, Jo Ann Drury, Frankfort, and Mary Katherine (John) Hodgkin, Frankfort; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 3 brothers; sister; grandson; and great-grandson.
A private funeral service will be held at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday, January 7, 2021.
