Obituary
Mayme Lougenia Penny, 89, of Lawrenceburg, died Thursday, January 12, 2023 at her residence.
She was born in Anderson County to the late Robert J. and Flora Bond Penny. She was a member at Second Christian Church; Women’s Auxiliary Club and Women’s Homemakers Club.
Ms. Penny is survived by four children, Kim Gray, Lawrenceburg, Joey Penny, Lawrenceburg, Susan Penny, Versailles and Stephanie Penny, Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, Kayla Gray, Amber (Stuart) Furlow, CJ Penny, Cobe Penny, Duane Jones, Kenny Jones, Blake Penny, Amanda Greene, Jeonna Newsome and Jeniece Newsome; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mayme is preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Penny; granddaughter, Nikki Jones; three sisters, Lucy Murphy, Alice Bixler, and Flora Anna McKee; and two brothers, William and Robert Penny.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Gash Memorial Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Joe Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 5-8 p.m. and prior to the service on Tuesday.
Casket bearers will be Bailey Terrell, Eric McKee, Tyler Smith, Doug Murphy, Garfield Starnes, Mike Bentley, Cameron Spencer and Greg Russell.
