Mary Louise Carter Gash, age 100, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Marshall Harry Gash, Sr., died Monday, March 7, 2022 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Gash was born in Anderson County to the late Jesse Elwood and Newell Perkins Carter, and stepmother who raised her, Dona Carter. She was a homemaker and babysitter, and a member of Mt. Eden Christian Church where she was involved in J.O.Y. Circle and taught Sunday School Class for more than 40 years. Louise was also a member of Fox Creek Homemakers and enjoyed sending cards to people for various occasions. She loved crafts, fishing, and was an avid UK basketball fan.
Louise is survived by two daughters, Rita (Don) Wells and Carla (Rodney) Durr, both of Lawrenceburg; eleven grandchildren, Barry Gash, John Gash, Laura Beth (Jonathan) NaFrady, Mark (Shanda) Wells, Mike (Amanda) Wells, Tim (Lori) Wells, Ryan (Jordan) Wells, Eric (Michelle) Gash, Amy Gash, Christopher (Mackenzie) Durr, and Adam Durr; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Suzette Gash, Lawrenceburg.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Marshall Gash, Jr. and Terry Gash, and daughter-in-law, Sherry Gash.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Wells, Mark Wells, and Tim Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Fox Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4-7 p.m. and Monday 9-11 a.m. prior to the service.
Pall bearers will be Barry Gash, Mike Wells, Ryan Wells, Eric Gash, Christopher Durr, and Adam Durr. Honorary bearers will be John Gash, Amy Gash, Laura Beth NaFrady and her great-grandchildren.
