Jeremy Todd Shumate, 49, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, July 30, 2022 from injuries sustained following a motorcycle accident in Lawrenceburg.
Jeremy was born in North Wilkesboro, NC to Helen Ruth Combs, of North Wilkesboro, NC and Howard Paul (Hattie) Shumate, of Hays, NC. He attended Hope Community Church; was part owner of Window World in Nicholasville where he worked for over 22 years; and previously volunteered to help with the Anderson County Middle School Archery Team.
He is survived by his two children, Katelynn Grace Shumate and Konnor Trealy Shumate, both of Lawrenceburg; two brothers, Jeffrey (Ginger) Shumate, of Germantown, OH and Robert (Georgiana) Holland, of Lenoir, NC; sister, Katrina Holland, of Cartersville, GA; special friends, Tommy (Kendra) Jones, of Wilmore, and Brad (Rachel) Gaunce, Lawrenceburg; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tracey and Faye Shumate; and maternal grandparents, Talmadge and Marie Patterson.
Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jeff Eaton officiating. Visitation 3-7 p.m. prior to the service Thursday. Jeremy will then be taken to Reins-Sturdivant in North Wilkesboro, NC where visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022. Graveside service 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Covenant Baptist Church Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
Contributions may be made to the Jeremy Shumate Memorial Fund to benefit his children. The fund is held at Farmers Bank, 200 N. Main Street, Nicholasville, Kentucky 40356.
