James Derek Marsh, age 34, of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Derek was born in Henderson, Kentucky to James Ray Marsh, of Sebree, Kentucky, and Kimberly Sue Schweinfurth Harvey, and her husband Jobey, of Lawrenceburg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines; member of the Church of Christ in Nicholasville; and was a fork truck driver at Wild Turkey Distillery.
Along with his parents he is survived by his step-brother, Martin Jerome Harvey, Lexington; grandparents, Darrell and Carolyn Sanford (Mimi), of Nicholasville and James and Nellie Harvey, of Lawrenceburg and Michael and Jane Marsh, Seattle, WA; uncle, John Eric King, of Nicholasville Ky; aunt, Kellie Elizabeth Reddoor of Lexington; uncle Jeff and Melissa Sanford, Stanford; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and best friend, Mylinda Long, Lawrenceburg; and his beloved buddy, Ruger.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Kevin Burr and Dr. Will Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 11-1 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
