Jacqueline Burks Redd, 81, of Frankfort, widow of Wallace Warren Redd II, died Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Anderson County to the late Harry Lewis “Pood” Burks and Mary B. Hall Polk Burks. She was a member at First Baptist Church in Frankfort; cosmetologist and owner of Jackie’s Beauty Palace and a cosmetology instructor; she owned several of her own businesses over the years; received numerous awards for her cosmetology work; and was Model of the Week in Jet Magazine.
Ms. Redd is survived by her four children, Angela L. (Joseph) Carter, Wallace W. Redd III, Ivy C. Redd and Troy W. Redd, all of Frankfort; 9 grandchildren, Tasia Kennedy, Charles “Chaz” Smith, Jr., Nicole Kennedy Shouse, Shane Kennedy, Morgan Carter, Dominique Redd (Jonathan) Carroll, Wallace Warren (Caitlin) Redd IV, Cameron Redd, and Brooklynn Redd; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn Hudson, Tampa, Fl and Leona Smith, Frankfort, KY; and several nieces, nephews, cousins.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Penny; and brothers, Walter Burks and Charles Lewis Burks.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 23, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Frankfort at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Donald T. Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 8-10 a.m. on Monday prior to the service.
