Jacob Tanner Stratton Sparrow, 21, passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 at University of Louisville Hospital after a courageous battle of brain cancer. He was born in Versailles, Kentucky to Chad and Lori Stratton Sparrow, of Lawrenceburg.
Jacob was a 2018 graduate of Anderson County High School and a member of Ballard Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors. Hunting, dirt track racing, farming, four wheeling, and camping were just a few of the many things that he enjoyed. He also loved baseball and played for the Anderson County Little League when he was younger. More than anything, Jacob loved his family and friends.
Along with his parents Jacob is survived by two sisters, Mollie and Zoie Sparrow; maternal grandparents, Ricky and Sandy Stratton; paternal grandparents, Allen and Beverly Sparrow, all of Lawrenceburg; uncle, Jason (Sharon) Sparrow, Midway; aunts, Brandie (Jason) Beasley, Lawrenceburg, Stacy (Wayne) Deters, Missouri, Lacie (James Brown) Stratton, Lawrenceburg, Amanda (David) Gehringer, Grayson, Crystal (Brad) Darland, Harrodsburg; several cousins, Gracie, Isaac, Hannah, and Eliza Jane Beasley, Rex and Rachel Deters, Colton and Chloe Brown, Ashley (Alex) Bland, Kelsey and Austin Darland; his girlfriend, Cassie Omvig; special friends that were like brothers and a sister, Jon and Devan Giles, Jacob McCoun, and McClain Reed; and his beloved dog, Hank.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Ballard Baptist Church with Bros. Jerry Dedman and Adam Lawson officiating. Burial will follow on the Stratton Farm in Anderson County. Visitation 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9-1 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at the church. Gash Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Pall bearers will be all of Jacob’s cousins, along with Jon Giles, Jacob McCoun, and McClain Reed.
