Harlen Pike Obituary

Harlen Emmett Pike, also known to many as Corkey, born July 30th, 1950, in Fishersville KY., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday October 11th, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his beloved fur baby and life companion, Mitzy; his granddaughter Brooklyn Faith Gaines; his parents, Susanna Eldridge and Isaac Sherman Pike. Sister, Tressie M. Broeker. Brothers, Sid Sherman Pike, Luke Jerome Pike, Michael Wayne Pike; And Tabatha Ann Phillips who he loved as a daughter.

He is survived by his daughter Leah Pike; Grandchildren Gregory Foster (Megan), Caitlyn Foster (John), Devan Edwards (Travis), Morgan Foster (Logan), Ashton Gaines (Cassie), Landon Gaines (Talashia), Gabriel Foster (Jenny); Great Grandchildren Zariah Hancock, Rylan Edwards, Harlyn Edwards, Jax Smith, and Julias Smith; His Sisters, Lydia Karr, Nellie Best. His ex-wife and lifelong friend, Donna Phillips (David).  Harlen also leaves behind a much-extended family of nieces and nephews.

Harlen was and will forever remain an amazing man. He was compassionate and had a giving nature making everyone feel at home. He was dedicated to all he did. His sense of humor was priceless. Harlen was an avid hunter and loved fishing.

As a proud ex-United States Marine and Viet Nam Veteran, Harlen had a great love for his country and wanted to make a difference no matter how big or small. Following the Military, he chose a career in law enforcement and corrections. However, the job titles he was most proud of were Daddy, Granddaddy and Great Granddaddy.

Harlen spent a large part of his life fighting illness and was a 3x cancer survivor. He was a believer and held tightly to his faith and love for God. All that knew this beautiful soul can attest to his undying love that he had for his family, especially his babies, and it is that love that sustained him in his fight to live time and time again.  He always put his family first in all that he did. He was our protector, our confidant, our cheerleader, our world, our Hero.
