Obituary

Everett Carroll Taylor, 86, husband of 65 years to JoAnn Likins Taylor, of Lawrenceburg, died Monday, June 5, 2023 on his farm in Anderson County.

          Mr. Taylor was born in Anderson County to the late Everett B. and Alice Hazel Cammack Taylor. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, a choir member, active in the Hims of Harmony, and was an assistant teacher in the Believer’s Sunday School Class. Carroll was a 1954 graduate of Anderson High School; attended the University of Kentucky where he was a member of the ROTC; retired from LG&E where he worked for 28 years; and spent his days as a farmer.  He also spent 8 years as co-owner of Taylor's Grocery.

          Carroll enjoyed being an active member of Anderson County Farm Bureau; Anderson County Masonic Lodge #90; the Historical Society; and Wheels of Time. Mr. Taylor was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed doing a lot of things in his free time. He was an avid antique collector and loved all things vintage.

          Along with his wife Mr. Taylor is survived by three children, Kerry Dane (Judy) Taylor, of Bellbrook, OH, David Brent Taylor, Lawrenceburg, and Carol Beth (Thomas) Edwards, of Lexington; 6 grandchildren, Jackson Taylor, Charlottesville, VA, Tess Taylor, Savannah, GA, Kayla Edwards (Damian) Byram, Lexington, Lucas Edwards, Miami, FL, David Lipnitz, of NC, and Laura Liptniz, Bellbrook, OH; sister, Pat (Doug) Hanks, of Lawrenceburg; three nephews, Ralph (Nancy) Dennis, Jr., Lawrenceburg, Gerald (Ruth) Dennis, Nicholasville, and Ashley (Amy) Gritton, Frankfort; and niece, Stephanie (Steve) Stratton, Lawrenceburg.

          Including his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Dennis, and niece, Angela Dennis Dalton.

          Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at First Baptist Church from 11-2 p.m.

          Casket bearers will be Jackson Taylor, Lucas Edwards, Thomas Edwards, LaRue Ruble, Bobby Shyrock, and Mike Shyrock. Honorary bearers will be the Deacons at First Baptist Church and the Believer’s Sunday School Class.

          Memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church, Building Fund, 111 N. Main St., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
