Elsie Mae Kirby Abshear, 91, of Lawrenceburg, widow of James Abshear, Jr., passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Signature Healthcare at Heritage Hall.
She was born in Jinx, KY to the late Clarence and Alice Farthing Kirby. She was a member at Antioch Christian Church and formerly worked as a supervisor for American Tree and Wreath.
Elsie is survived by three children, Rachel Marcum, James (Lynn) Abshear, both of Willisburg and Alice Jean (Henry) Barnes, of Lawrenceburg; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and spouse she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Abshear and William Franklin Abshear; sister, Betty Jean Kirby; three brothers, Clarence, Willard and George Kirby; and son-in-law, James Ronald Marcum.
Funeral services will be on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Noon & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Burdette officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11-1 p.m. prior to the service.
Casket bearers will be Henry Barnes, Brad Carter, Greg Marcum, Brian Barnes, Stevie Abshear and Kenny Hall.
