Donald Earl Hudson, Sr., 80, of Lawrenceburg, widower of Mary Yvonne McKee Hudson, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at his residence.
He was born on August 22, 1938 in Anderson Co. to the late George Saffell and Willie Mae Hudson. He attended Lincoln Institute in Simpsonville, KY; served in the US Army for two years; and retired from Universal Fasteners after 30 years where he worked in maintenance.
Mr. Hudson is survived by one son, Dale (Karen Beath) Hudson, of Lawrenceburg; two brothers, George Saffell Hudson, Jr., of Harrodsburg and Larry C. (Barbara) Hudson, Lawrenceburg; sister, Cheryl H. Guthrie, of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, Angel Dawn (Thomas) Bwalya, Frankfort, Daniel Elijah Hudson, Lawrenceburg and John Neil (Catherine) Beath, Frankfort; four great-grandchildren, Alayna Bwalya, Frankfort, Taylor Hudson, Makayla Hudson and Adam Hudson, all of Lawrenceburg; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hudson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a son, Donald "Nicki" Hudson, Jr.; two brothers; William Thomas "Tom" Hudson and Albert Michael "Mike" Hudson; and two sisters, Jane and Allie Hudson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerry Dedman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
Casket bearers will be Ernest Guthrie, Jr., Jobey Harvey, Manuel Harvey, John Williams, John Beath, and Larry Hudson, Jr. Honorary bearers will be Brian Hudson, Edward McCann, Norris McKee, Terry Hicks, James Harvey and Randy Hudson.
