Alyce Joy (Kirk) Ballard

Alyce Joy Kirk Ballard, 81, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Marvin D. Ballard, died Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

          Mrs. Ballard was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Alva W. and Pauline Taylor Kirk.  She was a member of Alton Baptist Church; graduated from Springfield High School in Ohio and Asbury College; and then received her Master’s Degree from Mary Grove College in Detroit, Michigan.  She retired after 38 years as a school teacher.

          Joy is survived by her son, Timothy M. (Tina) Ballard, of McArthur, OH; daughter, Melissa (Patrick “Tex”) Pulcifer, of Lawrenceburg, KY; five grandchildren, T.C. (Taylor) Ballard, of Hillsboro, OH, Tyler Ballard, of McArthur, OH, Steven (Chelsie) and Andrea Pulcifer, both of Lawrenceburg, and Nathan (Hannah) Pulcifer, Houston, TX; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shari (Martin) Volts and Linda (Rodney) Robinson.

          She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Kirk.

          Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Gary Ellcessor officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation 4-7 p.m. Thursday.

          Pall bearers will be T.C. and Tyler Ballard, Steven and Nathan Pulcifer, Joe Kinney, and Doc Rice.
