Albert Earl Tinsley, 93, husband of 73 years to Mary Dan Taylor Tinsley, of Waddy, died Monday, June 27, 2022 at his residence.
He was born in Shelby County to the late Albert Herbert “AH” Tinsley and Rosa Myrtle Johnson Tinsley. Mr. Tinsley worked for the Courier Journal Newspaper for over 63 years as a contract hauler. He drove over 5 million miles distributing newspapers throughout central, southern, and southeastern Kentucky. He was also a life long farmer in the Avenstoke area and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Along with his wife he is survived by three children, Frank Joseph (Judy) Tinsley, Richard Woodford Tinsley, both of Frankfort and Sarah Elizabeth (Mark) Brewster; 4 granchidlren, John Patrick (Kristi) Tinsley, Joseph Lannon (Tiffany) Tinsley, both of Lawrenceburg, Christopher Bradley (Allison) Brewster, TN and Benjamin Albert Tinsley, of Frankfort; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and sister, Helen Webb, Lawrenceburg.
Mr. Tinsley was preceded in death by son, John Lannon Tinsley; two brothers, Herbert Tinsley and Gilbert “Gippy” Tinsley and sisters, Verlene Williams and Edith Pauline “Polly” Walter.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 1, 2022 at Gash Memorial Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Pigeon Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-1 p.m. prior to the service.
Casket bearers will be John Tinsley, Lannon Tinsley, Christopher Brewster, Benjamin Tinsley, Frank Tinsley and Richard Tinsley. Honorary bearers will be Logan Brewster and Will Tinsley.
