Mary Jo Ransdell Hyatt, 82, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Edward Earl Hyatt, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at her daughter’s residence.
She was born in Harrodsburg, KY to the late Marvin Wash and Nina Elizabeth Crain Ransdell. She was a member at Fox Creek Christian Church; graduate of Anderson High School; retired from the Kentucky State Government where she worked as a word processing supervisor; an avid supporter of the Lions Club; and in her free time she enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting.
Mary Jo is survived by her three children, Eddie Allen (Sheila) Hyatt, Lawrenceburg, Sharon Lynn (Ken) Gorney, Punta Gorda, FL, and Teresa Kay (Danny) Welch, Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Heather Nicole Hyatt, Lexington and Marcus (Magen) Welch, Georgetown; and one great-grandchild, Parker Kate Simpson.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Bradley Scott Cheak.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Gash Memorial Chapel with Danny Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-1 p.m. prior to the service.
