Elizabeth Ophelia (Overstreet) Sea

November 13, 1936 ~ July 14, 2017 (age 80)

         Elizabeth Ophelia Overstreet Sea, 80, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Claibourne Stanley Sea, died Friday, July 14, 2017 at her residence.


         She was born in Anderson County to the late Russell and Annie Ruth Phillips Overstreet. She was a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School.  Ms. Sea was a lifelong member at First Baptist Church where she was in the Homemaker Sunday School Class, Greeter, Benevolence committee, worked in the Clothes Closet, assisted with VBS, and served on the bereavement committee. She was retired from Texas Instruments where she worked for 30 years and worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart for six years.


         Ms. Sea is survived by four children, Karen Ruth (Gary) Smith, of Harrodsburg; Kenneth Stanley “Kenny” (Billie Jo) Sea; Kerry Ray (Pam) Sea, and Kelly Russell (Beverly) Sea, all of Lawrenceburg; brother, Russell Overstreet; sister, Wilda Bond; 10 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; and special friend, Betty Watson, of Missouri.


         Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Patrick Searcy.


         Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday.


         Casket bearers will be Anthony Dale Searcy, Patrick Thomas Sea, Robert Brandon Phillips, Derek Hood, Cody Ryan Christopher, Lucas Allen Shouse, and Amos Logan Searcy. Serving as honorary bearers will be the Homemakers Sunday School Class, Shirley Hoskins, Virginia Carter, and Wal-Mart Associates.
