Dorothy “Dot” Anderson Bowman, age 90, of Wilmore, widow of Charles Melvin Bowman, died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at her residence.
Mrs. Bowman was born in Jessamine County to the late Harold and Addie Bee Estes Anderson. She was a member of Bethel Christian Church and a homemaker.
Dot is survived by four children, Nancy (Jimmy) Houp and Bobbye (Lewis) Stephens, both of Wilmore, Linda (Robbie) Mulcahy and David (Nancy Becker) Bowman, both of Nicholasville; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Houp, Naples, FL; brother, William Pete Anderson, of Florida; and step-siblings, Betty Bruner and Kenneth Wells.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Noe and Donie Prewitt; step-brother, Jackie Wells.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Bethel Christian Church with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation 11-1 p.m. prior to the service. Gash Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Casket bearers will be Duane Wilson, Adam Wilson, Robbie Mulcahy II, Josh Bowman, Junior Upton, and Lowell Duncan. Honorary bearers will be William Guy, Pete Anderson, Kenneth Wells, Chuck Bowman, Jimmy Houp, Lewis Stephens, Robby Mulcahy, and Gary Houp.
