Upon retirement she returned home to Salvisa and resided with her sisters on Sugar Street. She particularly enjoyed the extended family gathering at Christmas where she would give out her favorite peanut brittle candy while playing cards with her sisters, nieces and nephews. Before her illness she was very active in, and a member of, Salvisa Baptist Church.
