Robert Earl Murphy

         Robert Earl “Bobby” Murphy, 76, of Anderson County, widower of Linda Sue Martin Murphy, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

         He was born in Anderson County to the late Delbert and Tidia Mae Temple Murphy. He was retired from the City of Lawrenceburg where he worked in waste water treatment plant as a lab technician. He also spent all of his life farming.

         Mr. Murphy is survived by one daughter, Kathy Lynn Meece and her fiancé, Steven Parker; son, Robert (Stephanie) Goodlett, both of Mt. Eden; sister, Lorine (Truman) Nethery, of Lawrenceburg; sister-in-law, Sue Murphy; brother-in-law, Dennis Martin; granddaughter, Linda (Timothy) Hudson, of Mt. Eden; four great-grandchildren, Destiny Goodlett, Torrie Goodlett, Gabe Goodlett, and Layne Goodlett; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Billie Baxter and Katrina Haydon, both of Lawrenceburg.

         Along with his wife he was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.

         Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Steve Wells and Cecil Wells, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m.

         Casket bearers will be Robert Goodlett, Steve Parker, Tim Hudson, Ricky Nethery, Glen Nethery, and Ricky Ditmore. Serving as an honorary bearer will be Dennis Martin.
