Norma Jean Crossfield Hawkins, 87, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Dudley Leon Hawkins, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at her residence.
She was born in Anderson County to the late Porter and Marjorie Sparrow Crossfield. She was a member of First Christian Church and Victory Sunday School Class; she was a former clerk at Griffith Hardware; a cafeteria worker for the Anderson County Board of Education; Co-owner of Hawkins Meat Processing; and former member of Anderson County Democratic Woman’s Club.
Mrs. Hawkins is survived by her extended family, Rex, Lisa, Aaron, and Molly Kate Burkhead, all of Lawrenceburg.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Troy Brent Hawkins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016 at First Christian Church with Rev. Jim Wheeler and Rev. Micki McHugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Gash Memorial Chapel, and 11-1 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church prior to the service.
Casketbearers will be Tommy Hawkins, Glenn Smith, Terry Peach, Martin Peach, Vernon Drury, Rex Burkhead, Aaron Burkhead, and Mike Sparrow. Honorary bearers will be Betty Kirby, Betty Hawkins, Aggie Peach, Rita Walker, Thelma Bruce, Joyce Case, and Nancy Allen.
