Wilmer C. "Woody" Gash:
Owner and Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer
Woody is a native of Lawrenceburg, KY. He is a 1960 graduate of Anderson County High
School, and is a 1962 graduate of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science, the last class
to be graduated from the old building on Second Street in Louisville, KY. He started in
funeral service at the age of 17 with Gordon Funeral Home. He started his own business in
May of 1969. The name of the business at that time was Gordon-Gash Memorial Chapel, Inc. In
1986 the home and business was purchased by Woody and his wife, Wanda.
Woody is the son of the late Herbert and Nellie Sutherland Gash. He is married to
Wanda Chilton Gash. They have two daughters, Tabitha Marshea Gash (Mark) Lilly. She is a
graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. a daughter,
Tiffany Le Shea (Phillip) Azzinaro, a graduate of Transylvania University and received her
law degree from the University of Kentucky Law School in 2001. He has one sister, Nancye
(Bobby) Hyatt. Tabitha & Mark have a son, Layne Myers Lilly, and Tiffany and Philip have a
son, Dylan Ross Azzinaro.
Woody served as president of the Kentucky Funeral Directors Association in 1981-1982,
is a member of the Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church where he has served in many capacities,
a member and past president of the Lawrenceburg Lions Club, and a former member of the
Lawrenceburg Rotary Club.
Woody served as Anderson County Coroner for approximately 32 years.
Wanda C. Gash:
Owner and Licensed Funeral Director
Wanda is a native of Lawrenceburg, KY. She is a 1964 graduate of Anderson County High
School and is a licensed hairdresser having attended Kaufman Beauty School in Lexington,
KY. graduating in 1965. She worked for Curlette Beauty Shop for 10 years. In 1987, she
was licensed as an insurance agent and is the pre-need counselor at Gash Memorial Chapel.
After staying at home and mothering her children, she went to work in the funeral home in
1987 and was licensed as a funeral director in 1992.
Wanda is the daughter of Corine Chilton and the late John H. Chilton. In September of
1967, she married Woody Gash. She has two daughters, Tabitha Marshea Gash (Mark) Lilly, of
Lawrenceburg, and Tiffany LeShea Gash, of Lexington. She has one sister, Rita (Danny)
Downey, of West Virginia.
Wanda is a member of Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church and the Anderson County Junior
Miss Program. She is the news reporter for the Lawrenceburg News on WHBN Radio Station in
Harrodsburg, KY.
Lance M. Roe
Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer
Lance is a native of Jessamine County, KY. He is a 1999 graduate of West Jessamine High School. In
2002, he graduated from the University of Kentucky where he studied organ. In 2003, he earned
certification as a law enforcement officer from Eastern Kentucky University. Lance graduated Mid-America
College of Funeral Service in 2005, where he earned a mortuary science degree. Lance has been serving
with Gash Memorial Chapel since 2003.
Lance is the son of Robert and Gail Roe, of Wilmore, Kentucky. He and Molly Janette Bellamy-Roe of Canton,
Ohio, were married in July of 2003. Lance and Molly have no children yet, although they have a
Yorkshire-Terrier named Max.
Lance and Molly are members of Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church, where Lance serves as organist.
He is also a Deputy Sheriff with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office. Lance is the co-owner of
L & W Emergency Equipment in Lawrenceburg, and is a member of the Wilmore Lions Club. Lance is
a former assistant to the Jessamine County Coroners office, serving under coroner Joe Northrup.
Brenda Kay Bowen:
Licensed Funeral Director
Brenda is a native of Washington County. She is a 1966 graduate of Willisburg High School and a
1967 graduate of Kaufman Beauty School. She worked as a hairdresser for 15 years at Curlette Beauty Shop.
She is a licensed insurance agent where she works with the pre-need at the funeral home, and became a
licensed funeral director in 1991. She has been employed by Gash Memorial Chapel since 1987.
Brenda is the daughter of Gladys Drury Martin, of Lawrenceburg, and the late Ruel "Bud" Martin.
She is married to Calvin H. Bowen Jr. and has one brother and sister-in-law, Gary (Pam) Martin, of
Lawrenceburg.
Brenda is a member of the Anderson Christian Church, Willing Workers Sunday School Class, and
assistant Sunday School Secretary.
Kenneth Gill:
Funeral Home Assistant
Kenneth has been with our firm since 1979. He is a native of Lawrenceburg,
KY. and is a graduate of Anderson County High School. He is a member
of the Lawrenceburg Second Christian Church.
Kenneth is married to Teresa Wash Gill. He has 3 step-daughters, Leslie Morris, Lisa Hunter,
and Jo Bowlin, all of Lawrenceburg, and 3 step-grandchildren, Jesse Morris, Taylor Morris,
and Michael Hunter.
Louis H. Sea:
Funeral Home Greeter
Louis is a native of Mercer County, Kentucky. He retired from General Electric in Louisville
after 37 years of service. He currently lives in Lawrenceburg, and has been serving with Gash
Memorial Chapel since 2005. Louis attends Salvisa Methodist Church, and is a member of Fairview
Christian Church.
Louis is the son of the late Millard and Irene Drury Sea. Louis has five children, Marty,
Mike, Barbara, Kathy, and Tim. He has ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He has
one brother, Coy Sea, and his wife, Jo, of Lawrenceburg, and 3 nieces.
Louis was married to the late Phyllis Yeager Hamlin Sea.
Marilyn McDaniel:
Pre-Need Counselor
Marilyn is a native of Versailles, Ky. She worked as a supervisor for Texas Instrument's for 18 years.
She has been a licensed pre-need insurance agent since 1988 working for Sunset & Duell-Clark funeral
homes. She has been serving with Gash Memorial Chapel since 2005.
Marilyn is the daughter of the late Ernest and Nellie Bailey Weber. She married Bill McDaniel
February 14, 1951. They have two daughters, Gloria (Gary) Gilkison, Versailles, and Brenda (Ronnie)
Naylor, Lawrenceburg. Two sons, Billy McDaniel, Versailles, and Tommy (Susan) McDaniel, of Sebastian,
FL. Ten grandchildren, Gretchen and Genna Gilkison, Keith and Shane Naylor, Billy III, Aaron, Christian,
Leanne, Lee, and Levi McDaniel, plus five great grandchildren. Marilyn has one sister, Evelyn (Don)
Cartmill, of Versailles.
Marilyn is former pianist of Hillsboro Baptist Church in Versailles. She served as Sunday school teacher,
and secretary/treasure of Women's Missions. She is the President of the Versailles Lion's Club. She and
Bill reside on Woodlake Road in Lawrenceburg and attend Sand Spring Baptist Church.
